Monday Mediation

"I think I get used to, even addicted to, the feelings associated with the end of a long training run. I love feeling empty, clean, worn out, starving, and sweat-purged. I love the good ache of muscles that have done me proud. I love the way a cold beer tastes later that afternoon. I love the way my body feels light and sinewy."

Where have I been?

My running blog has been a bit neglected the last month, not for any reason other than I have been deep into my training, my work and spending any spear moment with my wonderful husband and son.  So what have I been up too?

Well first I have had great trail running adventures.  First exploring the back country of Wilder Ranch State Park, and then finally doing my dream run from Big Basin State Park to Waddle Beach.

View on the trail down to Waddle Beach!

Then it was time for my first long run of 18 miles! Signed up for the Mt Madonna Challenge, and that was exactly it, a challenge!

Then had some fun with the Color me Rad Race.  And this weekend did my first 20 miler.  As my first marathon approaches I get more and more pumped every day!
Crazy hill of doom!
View from the top of Mt. Madonna
Time for some fun!
At least I am still smiling!
A great way to start my 20 miler!

Third time around high noon and hot, awesome views

This was the hill or should I say mt of doom Gained 1200 feet in evaluation in a mile ( had to do this twice )

Last picture me on the trail, after finishing the crazy hill the second time! After taking this picture the photographer asked me how close he was to the finish.
